Insight
Faith, Calling & Devotion.
Short reflections rooted in Scripture — written by Daniel Jorge on faith, calling, stewardship, family, and work. Read them here; audio is coming soon.
When God Calls, Answer
God rarely calls the ready. He calls the willing. Before Isaiah knew the full assignment, he answered with his whole life: here am I, send me.
Build on the Rock
I have spent my life building. The first lesson on any site is the same as the first lesson in life: everything depends on the foundation you cannot see.
Stewards, Not Owners
Nothing I have is mine. Time, money, work, family, influence — all of it was handed to me to manage well, not to clutch.
First Things First
Order is everything. Put the wrong thing first and the whole life tilts, no matter how hard you work.
Work as Worship
There is no secular work for a believer. The job site, the spreadsheet, the meeting — all of it can be an altar.
The House Before the Empire
Joshua did not say “as for me and my career.” He led his house first. So must I.
Be Still
Stillness feels unproductive to a builder. But striving is often just a polite name for unbelief.
Faithful in Little
God grows what we are faithful with, not what we wish for. The small thing in front of you is the interview for the big thing you pray about.
The Plans He Has
His plans are good even when my year is hard. That promise was first given to people in exile, not in comfort.
Strength in Weakness
I used to hide my weakness. Now I understand it is the very place His strength shows up.
Walk Humbly
The whole of a good life fits in one verse: be just, be merciful, stay humble.
Count It Joy
No one enjoys the trial. But faith learns to look past the pain to what it is producing.
Do Not Be Anxious
Anxiety is a poor manager. It carries tomorrow’s weight today and solves nothing.
A Light on a Hill
We are not called to hide our faith at work or in public. We are called to let it be seen — quietly, consistently, without performance.
Renewed Each Morning
Yesterday’s failure does not get the final word. His mercy resets with the sunrise.
The Generous Heart
Generosity is not what is left over. It is a decision made on purpose, before the math feels safe.
Run the Race
Some weights are not sins, just distractions. Maturity is learning to lay down even good things that slow the calling.
Guard Your Heart
What I let into my heart eventually comes out in my work, my words, and my home.
Love That Builds
I can build buildings, but only love builds a home. And love, the Bible says, is mostly patience and kindness practiced daily.
The Cornerstone
Every wall is set to the cornerstone. Get it wrong and the whole structure goes crooked.
Rest for Your Soul
There is a tiredness sleep cannot fix. It is the soul carrying what it was never meant to carry.
Plant and Water
My job is to plant and to water faithfully. The growth was never mine to manufacture.
The Father’s Discipline
The hard seasons were not God abandoning me. Often they were God parenting me.
Treasure That Lasts
I have watched markets rise and fall. Nothing built only for this life is truly secure.
Trust in the Lord
My understanding is limited. It sees the next step, maybe two. His sight has no horizon.
Iron Sharpens Iron
No man becomes his best alone. We are sharpened by brothers willing to tell us the truth.
The Good Shepherd
A shepherd leads, provides, and protects. The whole psalm rests on one quiet claim: the Lord is mine.
Salt of the Earth
Salt works quietly, mixed in, preserving and adding flavor. That is the kind of influence I want to have.
Whatever Is True
The mind is a workshop. What I let it dwell on, it eventually builds into my life.
The Wise Builder
Skill raises walls, but wisdom builds a house that lasts. The same is true of a company and a family.
Called to Serve
The world measures greatness by who is served. Jesus flipped it: greatness is measured by who you serve.
The Vine and the Branches
A branch produces nothing on its own. Its only job is to stay connected to the vine.
A Cheerful Giver
It is possible to give and still grip. God is after the heart, not just the gift.
Press On
Yesterday’s wins and failures can both keep me stuck. Paul’s secret was a forward gaze.
The Lord Is My Light
Fear shrinks in the presence of light. When the Lord is my light, the dark loses its authority.
Finish the Work
Starting is easy and loud. Finishing is quiet and faithful. I want to be a man who finishes what God gave him.
Be Strong and Courageous
Courage is not the absence of fear. It is moving forward because of who goes with you.
